Jade
Tattoo Apprentice
(She/Her)
Jade's journey to becoming a tattoo artist began in her childhood, influenced by her dad's profession in the field and her own passion for drawing. This early exposure led her to become the go-to artist among her friends, naturally evolving her skills from drawing on paper to creating art on skin. Her artistic style is a distinctive mix, combining the whimsical charm of anime and cutesy tattoos, like Hello Kitty and chibi characters, with a passion for horror themes. In her apprenticeship, she is particularly focused on enhancing her techniques in realism and semi-realism, adept in both color and black and grey.
Outside the studio, Jade's interests in cosplay and metal concerts reflect her diverse tastes and creativity. She's a regular at events like the Calgary Expo and Anime Edmonton Expo, immersing herself in these vibrant communities. Her workstation in the studio, adorned with Hello Kitty items, echoes her love for kawaii culture, a style that also influences her tattoo designs. Despite her initial shyness, Jade enjoys connecting with clients, valuing the stories and experiences they share during their sessions.
Looking ahead, Jade is excited about expanding her portfolio. She's drawn to the dynamic energy of metalcore bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Ice Nine Kills, and this influence is evident in her desire to explore non-traditional pinups. As she continues to grow and develop her skills, Jade is eager to blend her wide range of artistic influences, from the cute and playful to the bold and edgy, in her tattoo work.
